Frequently Asked Questions:

I want to sign up for a CSA Share, but what happens if I miss a pickup?

This is a great question! Because of the nature of the CSA, we do not offer refunds or additional vegetables if you miss picking up your share. We will hold shares for a limited number of days after the scheduled pickup: if you are scheduled to come on Thursday, we will hold a missed share through our Sunday farmstand. Shares that are not picked up by Sunday will be donated to the Free99Fridges. It is the CSA member’s responsibility to pick up your shares- we do not send reminder emails for missed pickups.

If you have a vacation planned during the CSA season and/or you will otherwise be unable to pick up your share, we recommend getting a friend or neighbor to come in your place. Simply tell them to give your name at pickup and we will give your share to them. We are no longer including skip weeks for CSA members, even though we have had those in the past.

If your schedule is frequently in flux or you travel a lot for work, we recommend you purchase a CSA Market Card! This is a flexible option that allows you to purchase a reloadable, pre-paid gift card to use at any Sunday farmstand to buy whatever you want!

I want to sign up for the sliding scale pricing- do I have to do anything to qualify?

Not at all! Our sliding scale is open to for everyone to select the price that works for you. We do not need you to tell us anything about your income or circumstances- we trust that everyone will find the price that fits their household and situation. That also means that if you are able to pay more than the regular price, we encourage you to do so, knowing it goes directly towards helping us offer reduced price options. This is a “neighbors helping neighbors” set up- we are just the facilitators.

Reduced price shares are sold out. Can I still get a reduced price share?

We rely on “help a neighbor” contributions to provide reduced price shares on our CSA. If reduced price shares are currently sold out, you can select “reduced price waiting list” and checkout at no charge to reserve the next reduced price share that receives funding. We will contact you if a reduced price share opens up.

I have EBT- how can I participate in the CSA?

If you have EBT, you can purchase a Market Card CSA share at a 50% discount! No need to do anything online, simply come to the farmstand and ask to purchase a Market Card CSA with EBT. Tell us how much you want to spend: we will swipe your card for that amount and then load DOUBLE onto the Market Card! You can then spend the Market Card at any of our Sunday Farmstands throughout the season, on whatever fruits and veggies you like! If you like the idea of getting a pre-selected box of produce, simply tell us to pick out a share equivalent for you when you come shop! We are happy to put something together for you to streamline your shopping.

You can also purchase a traditional CSA Share. In the online store, simply select the EBT option. You will not need to pay for anything but you will need to check out. This will reserve a share for you. All you need to do next is come to the first CSA pick-up day (for Summer Shares, thats April 14) and pay for your share with your EBT card at Pick-up. You will have the option to pay for the entire season or set up a monthly payment plan. Both options will receive the 50% EBT discount.

I want to be in the traditional CSA for the whole year! Can I sign up now?

Yes! You can now purchase a full 30 week CSA share at the beginning of the farm season. This share is called the Summer and Fall Share and has pick-ups from April 14-November 17. What’s more, sign up for this option and receive a discount of $45 on Full shares and $30 on Value shares!

I do not want to purchase both the Summer CSA Share and Fall CSA share at this time. Can I purchase the Fall share later in the year?

Yes, we will open up fall shares for purchase again about a month prior to the beginning of that season.

I am not interested in a CSA. How can purchase Aluma Farm vegetables without buying a CSA Share?

You do not need to purchase a CSA share to enjoy Aluma’s produce. In 2022, we will be open to the public every Sunday from 11-2, April 17-November 20. Come visit our farmstand and enjoy the freshest veggies in town grown right here at your neighborhood farm!

Where is your farm located? Where do I pick-up my CSA? Where is the Farmstand located?

Aluma Farm is located at 1150 Allene Ave. SW, Atlanta GA 30310. Both our Farmstand and all CSA pick-ups are right here on the farm. Come visit us and see what we do!
